End of Year Report: 2012

Our final meeting of the year occurred on Dec. 31, 2011 in conjunction with our specialty show. We were very pleased at the turnout and comraderie shared by all. Please welcome our new members: Todd Biddle, Nancy Taylor, and Gabby Mast. We look forward to sharing more shows and fun with you in the future.
This year was also an election year. The IDDRC would like to thank outgoing officers Shelly and Caitlynn Strobel for their hard work and wish them well in their new endeavors. The new officers were all elected by acclamation and ran unopposed. Our new officers are as follows:
President- Kelli Slack
Vice President- Paul Matthys
Secretary- Chris Matthys
Treasurer- Val Slack
Directors- Madison Rogers, Dustin Pruett, Danielle Feller, and Zayne Hunter
Ex-Officio Directors- Scott Williamson and Kelly Correll
Our upcoming shows for the spring will be on February 4, 2012 and April 7, 2012. Showbills are available on the website as usual. The Feb. show will start at 8am. This is a double all breeds show and a specialty. We will be in the second building (with the food) with two other specialty breeds. This should help with the congestion that happened at the show last year. The judges will be rotated through the building instead of moving the Dutch. The April show will start at 9am (or the discretion of the host club, if needed). Any changes to this schedule will be posted on the blog.
We are still working on the Double Dutch Spectacular. Our ideal date is Saturday, May 19, 2012. One possible location for our double specialty is Wabash, IN. We are pursuing this option at the moment. This show would be a fundraiser for our scholarship fund.
We are trying to establish a small scholarship fund to be awarded either fall 2012 or spring 2013. To date we have raised $179 from the sale of candy bars, bottle cap necklaces, and hair feathers. We are also putting most of the profits from our New Year’s Eve Show towards this fund. Rules will be established by a committee in time to award the scholarship by spring 2013.
Our treasury as of Dec. 30, 2011 stands at $179 in the scholarship fund, $600.52 in the checking account, and $26.75 in cash.
Our membership voted to split the in-state and out-of-state sweepstakes contests starting with our 2012 shows. We are looking for clever names to denote the new sweepstakes categories. Please send any ideas to one of your IDDRC officers.
We also want to congratulate our members on their BOV, BOSV, and BOB placings at the 2011 National Convention: Danielle Feller, Erica Haas, Brianna Haas, Alexa Demland, Jacalynn Gumz, Kelli Slack, Todd Biddle, Nancy Taylor, and Scott Williamson. Thank you to everyone who assisted with the 2011 National Convention your presence and hard work were appreciated by all.
As a reminder, the 2012 National Dutch show will be held in Lebanon, PA April 12-15. Todd Biddle invited us all to make the trip out to Pennsylvania for fun and excitement in April.
